Modelling and management of environmental data
The representation of natural phenomena via the use of a numerical approach is typical of engineering. The various environmental mechanisms are thus transformed into physical laws, and chemical or biological reactions schematised in models. Physis has always used computerised technologies to develop innovative approaches, from the creation of databanks to the modelling of pollution processes. For example, it has recently perfected an avant-garde system for digitalising hardcopy data collected traditionally that these days need to be processed numerically. In addition to this, it has set up specialised territorial databanks, geographical information systems for the management of technological infrastructures, and online instruments for managing evolved authorisation and control procedures.
